About Us

Fuego Nuevo is dancing better than ever….

Who We Are In Short

Fuego Nuevo – For the Aztecs, the world could end every 52 years, the cycle of the sun. Because of that at the end of the last day of every cycle, all the fires were turned off, only the high persists could start the new fire through a ritual that would make the sun come out once again, there by starting the new cycle.

Jose Luis Juarez y Miguel Angel Martinez from Mexico City were exposed to the world of dance at the ages of 20 and 18 through the ‘Ballet Folklorico Vicente Guerrero’ directed by Marcial Cortez, in Iztapalapa, Mexico City.

From there, they became a part of the prestigious “Ballet Folklorico Nacional de Mexico”, the Mexican National Traditional Dance Group directed by Silvia Lozano. Looking to better themselves and their dance, they immigrated to the United States. Inspired by the passion of the dance in February 2005 they decided to create and open in San Jose California.

"Absolutely love, love, love this dance company. The performances are mesmerizing, it feels like the dancers are performing just for you. The choreography is entertaining and makes full use of the stage"

Sandra Castello, San Francisco

"It was a fun routine to open with and the dancing was beautifully done and overall was more complicated than some of the other combinations."

Liza Perot, San Jose

"The stage was elaborate and beautifully decorated. Everything was perfect and the stage props and the stage set up was incredible."

Karla Torres, Santa Clara
